MS Dhoni became the only 2nd Indian player to reach the 350-game mark in ODI 10th July, 2019 - MS Dhoni became the only second Indian player to reach the 350-game mark in One-Day International cricket (ODI). The first Indian to set the record was Sachin Tendulkar. MS Dhoni has been tagged as one of the best finishers in the sport. Dhoni led India from 2007 to 2017. Under Dhoni's captaincy won its second championship in the cricket world cup. He also led India to No. 1 position in the ICC Rankings. Vinesh Phogat won Gold Medal 9th July, 2019 - India’s top wrestler Vinesh Phogat won her first gold medal after shifting to 53kg category and Divya Kakran claimed the top honours in the 68kg category at the Grand Prix of Spain 2019 at Madrid, Spain. 7th July, 2019 - Indian shooter Elavenil Valarivan won the gold medal in 10m women's air rifle event of the season's first junior ISSF World Cup 2019 on 4 July. She defeated Chinese Taipei's Lin Ying-Shin to win the title. She shot 249.8 in the women's final. Her 631.4 in the qualification was a new world record. China's Wang Zeru managed to win the bronze medal with a score of 228.4 in her first World Cup appearance. Elavenil Valarivan is a sport shooter from Cuddalore, Tamilnadu. She had also won a bronze medal at the FISU World Shooting Sport Championship 2019.

The youngster shot 246.3 in the finals fetching gold while Russia's Chernousov Artem won silver with 243.8 and China's Pang Wei had to settle with bronze with a score of 220.7. Saurabh is the only Indian shooter to win the gold medal in ISSF World Championship, ISSF World Cup, Youth Olympic Games, Asian Games, and Asian Air Gun Championship.

25th May, 2019 - Senior Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan jumped to the top of the latest MRF Tyres ICC ODI rankings for all-rounders, which doesn't feature a single Indian in the top-10 chart. He grabbed the top spot just ahead of the ODI World Cup after showcasing fine form during the tri-nation series in Ireland, which Bangladesh famously won to claim their first title in a multi-nation tournament. In the three matches of the series, Shakib totalled 140 runs, including two unbeaten half-centuries and also picked up two wickets. Shakib now has 359 points, 20 clear of Afghanistan's Rashid Khan, the previous holder of the top ranking, who has now slipped to No.2. Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi completes the top three, with 319 points.
