The Chief Election Commissioner heads the Election Commission of India. He is usually a member of the Indian Civil Service and mostly from the Indian Administrative Service and is appointed by the President of India.

The current Incumbent Chief Election Commissioner is Rajiv Kumar who entered office on 15 May 2022. Till now, 25 people have served as Chief Election Commissioners of India.
